Period Diary App Review – What Every Modern-day Woman Must Have

Before you continue reading, I would like to tell you that this review is meant for women. Why? This review is about an app for women and women only. If you’re a dude, pass on this or share it to your girlfriend, girl best friend, or sister. You won’t understand most of what will be provided here. But if you’re a woman, go on and you won’t regret it.

Have you ever tried cancelling a weekend getaway on the last minute because of your monthly visitor? Well, those days will come to an end once you get the Period Diary app. It allows you to manage your vacations, dinner dates, and just about anything you would place on your daily planner. Your Ob-Gynecologist may have suggested encircling the expected red dates on your calendar but I don’t think you would want to post your red days like a bulletin. I give five stars out of five for this great app.

What’s in it for you?

The Period Diary is the best app for women. It allows you to keep track of your menstrual cycle. When you open the app, you will see the number of days left before your expected period. You will also see if it’s a safe day to sleepover at your boyfriend’s apartment. When you open the calendar, you will see the expected dates highlighted so you know those days are blocked off.

You can use it like a journal of your moods so you will have a better understanding of why you suddenly feel like eating a whole liter of ice cream in five minutes. You can choose between angry, depressed, frustrated, confused, hungry, and flirty. You won’t be that awful the whole month though so you can also label it calm, energized, and happy. The full version has over 22 moods. You will also be able to keep track of symptoms like acne, loss of appetite, backache, constipation, and the rest of the 23 symptoms if you get the full version.

If you want review your past cycles, the app stores those data for you. You can open the Period Log petal and go back to your fertile days, ovulation dates, and the rest of your period history.

You can personalize the appearance of your app by changing the theme. Since women have different cycles – the number of days in cycle, number of days in period, and ovulation start date, the app will allow you to change those factors.

If you don’t want your curious friend who plays with your iPod to see your Period Diary just like you wouldn’t want anyone to see a paper calendar on the wall with red dates encircled, you can set a password. This way, only you can access the app.

The not-so nice part of it

It needs some getting used-to. Well, almost any new app would need the same. When I first used the app, I had to figure my way around the app. There is a user guide so this can help. This app also won’t be really great for women with irregular periods because it will affect the accuracy of the predictions. The weight and temperature portion is something I don’t use. I don’t think it’s even useful. Or maybe I’m just too busy to pay attention to those small details.

Even with some not-so nice features of the app, I would still stick to my rating of perfect five. I always suggest this to my girl friends and they always thank me dozens of times afterwards. It can replace your Dear Diary moments on that small notebook locked with a tiny key. It’s what every modern-day woman should have on her gadget.
